Project Overview

Transforming Anganwadi Centres, Building Brighter Futures

Anganwadi Centres provide early childhood care, nutrition, and foundational learning to rural children. However, many centres require improvements in infrastructure, sanitation, and child-friendly facilities.

Through the Sirivikasam Model Anganwadi Project, Dhruvansh, in collaboration with Allied Blenders & Distillers Limited, supported the restoration of 13 Anganwadi Centres in Wanaparthy District, Telangana.

The project focused on infrastructure repairs, flooring, painting, water and electrical facilities, compound walls, and child-friendly learning spaces, creating safer and more welcoming environments for children.

Inauguration of the Model Anganwadi Centres

The restored Anganwadi Centres were inaugurated at Pebbair Mandal, Wanaparthy District, marking an important step towards creating safer and more child-friendly spaces for early childhood care and learning.

The event was attended by Sri. Adarsh Surabhi, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Wanaparthy District, as Chief Guest, along with Sri. Tudi Megha Reddy, MLA, Wanaparthy. The initiative was supported by Allied Blenders & Distillers Limited under its CSR initiative, with Dhruvansh NGO as the implementation partner.

Key Restoration Interventions

Improving infrastructure, essential facilities, and learning environments to create safer and more child-friendly Anganwadi Centres.

Infrastructure & Interior Restoration

The Anganwadi Centres underwent essential infrastructure improvements to create safer, cleaner, and more comfortable spaces for children. The restoration included flooring, interior and exterior painting, doors and windows, roof and slab repairs, and electrical improvements. Damaged and worn-out areas were repaired to improve the overall condition and usability of the buildings. These upgrades not only improved the appearance of the centres but also helped create a more secure and welcoming environment for children, Anganwadi workers, and the local community.

Safe Drinking Water & Essential Facilities

Improving access to essential facilities was an important part of the restoration work. The project included the installation and improvement of water tanks, water pumps, safe drinking-water facilities, fans, and electrical services across the centres. These facilities support better hygiene, comfort, and everyday operations, while ensuring that children have access to basic amenities in a safe environment. By strengthening these essential services, the project helped make the Anganwadi Centres more functional and better equipped to support children’s daily care and early development.

Child-Friendly Learning Spaces

The restoration also focused on creating colourful, engaging, and child-friendly learning environments. Educational wall designs featuring learning concepts such as alphabets, numbers, animals, and other visual elements were introduced to make the surroundings more interactive for young children. Play facilities and child-friendly improvements were also incorporated to encourage learning through activity and exploration. These enhanced spaces provide children with a more welcoming environment for early education, play, social interaction, and overall development while supporting Anganwadi workers in delivering their services effectively.
